Autore

Dr Klára Szita Tóthné is a retired Professor at the Faculty of Economics Institute of World and Regional Economics at the University of Miskolc. She graduated as a chemist and as an environmental engineer. She received her doctorate (Dr. univ.) with the dissertation "Enrichment of carbonate manganese ores with sulphating and reducing roasting" in 1986 at the University of Attila József in Szeged. She wrote her C.Sc. (PhD) dissertation about "Some questions about foundation of food industrial environmental management" and she has been a candidate (PhD) of economic science at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (HAS) in 1995. She made the habilitation process in 2008. From 1989 she taught food technology and environmental economics more than 10 years at Faculty College of Food Industry in Szeged and from 2001 she worked at University of Miskolc, she had been professor since 2010. Her main research fields are environmental economics, assessment of sustainable performance, life cycle assessment and future studies. She is a Founding Member and now the legal representative as president of the LCA Center Association. She has membership in different scientific and professional organisations. She has more than 230 scientific publications and 100 independent citations.Dr Károly Jármai is a Professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Informatics at the University of Miskolc, where he graduated as a mechanical engineer (1978) and received his doctorate (1979). He teaches design of steel structures, welded structures, composite structures and optimization in Hungarian and in the English language. His research interests include structural optimization, mathematical programming techniques, and expert systems. He wrote his CSc. (PhD) dissertation at the Hungarian Academy of Science in 1988, became a European Engineer (Eur. Ing. FEANI, Paris) in 1990, and got his habilitation at Miskolc in 1995. Having successfully defended his doctor of technical science thesis (DSc.) in 1995. He subsequently received awards from the Engineering for Peace Foundation in 1997 and a scholarship as Széchenyi Professor between 1997–2000. He is the co-author of 4 books in English, 3 books in Hungarian and has published over 593 professional papers, lecture notes, chapters and conference papers. He has about 857 independent citations. He is a Founding Member of International Society for Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization (ISSMO), a Hungarian delegate, Vice Chairman of commission XV, and a Subcommission Chairman XV-F of International Institute of Welding (IIW). He has held several leading positions in GTE (Hungarian Scientific Society of Mechanical Engineers) and has been the President of this society at the University of Miskolc between 1991-2009. He was a Visiting Researcher at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden in 1991, Visiting Professor at Osaka University in 1996–1997, at the National University of Singapore in 1998 and at the University of Pretoria several times between 2000–2005. He was the Vice Rector of the university between 2013–2017 at the field of strategy and research. He is a member of the editorial board of several national and international journals. He has organized several international conferences; which Proceedings have been published by well-known publishers.Dr Katalin Voith is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Miskolc. She graduated in 1990 as a Metallurgical Engineer and received her PhD in 1993. She succeeded a postgraduate 2-year program of Human Management in 2017.In 1996 she worked for the American Association of Cereal Chemists in Belgium. She organized workshops and commercial exhibits in Europe. From 2000 she worked as a founding member of FALEX Tribology NV. Beside the administrative management of the company, being involved in international projects and the test works of the laboratory, she also prepared the newsletters, the company website and brochures and organized workshops and open-door-days.In 2010 she worked as a Senior Associate for Local Economic Development for the city of Miskolc. The job involved managing prospective investments in the region, mostly in English.Since March 2011 she has been working at the University of Miskolc. Her major task is to organize, develop and manage the foreign MSc and PhD study programs. She is a Senior Research Fellow from 2018. Her further tasks are to increase the international visibility of the faculty through organizing international conferences and finding possible partners for European research projects.
