Dr. Y. K. Guruprasad is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at BMS College of Engineering, Bengaluru. He received his Ph.D from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. He carried out part of his Ph.D. research at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom in 2009 as part of the UK-India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI) program on the repair of structures adopting Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) and the behaviour of structures exposed to fire. Dr. Guruprasad has also completed his post-doctoral research at IISc. He completed M.Tech. in structural engineering from M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT), Bengaluru and his B.E. in civil engineering from BMS College of Engineering, Bengaluru. His areas of research include but are not limited to, repair and retrofit of structures, retrofit of structures adopting FRP composites, adoption of IoT in structural health monitoring, non-destructive testingevaluation, earthquake engineering and seismic resistant analysis and design of structures, structural dynamics and vibration analysis, fracture mechanics, microanalysis of concrete exposed to high temperature. Dr Guruprasad has multiple publications in refereed international and national journals, conferences and book chapters. He has guided 7 M.Tech. students in structural engineering. He has also guided many final-year B.E. projects, which have been recognized and funded by the Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology (KSCST) at the IISc Campus. He has also carried out consultancy work in non-destructive evaluation of structures and structural analysis and design of structures. Dr. Guruprasad is a reviewer for international journals. He is a life member of the Institution of Engineers (India), Chartered Engineer (CE) and Institution of Engineers (India), Indian Concrete Institute(ICI), Indian Society of Non-destructive Testing (ISNT), Indian Association for Computational Mechanics (IndACM) and Institute for Research Development and Training Of Construction Trades & Management (INSTRUCT). He is also a fellow member of the Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (ACCE).

Dr. P. C. Pandey retired as a professor of structural engineering from IISc, Bengaluru and is currently serving as the Professor Emeritus in Civil Engineering at REVA University, Bangalore. Dr. Pandey has obtained his B.E. from BIT Mesra, ME from IISc, Bengaluru and Ph.D. from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom (UK). He has previously served as faculty at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and at BITS Pilani. He completed his post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Wales, Swansea and later served there as an Erasmus Mundus Visiting Professor. His broad areas of research interest are computational mechanics, finite element analysis and damage mechanics. Dr Pandey has supervised 6 Ph.D. students and has published over 120 papers in international journals and conferences.

Dr. G. R. Dodagoudar is presently working as a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, India. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from IIT Bombay. His areas of research interest include computational geomechanics, contaminant transport modelling, reliability analysis of geotechnical systems, soil dynamics and earthquake engineering and, seismic hazard and risk assessment. Dr. Dodagoudar has guided 21 Ph. D. and 7 M.S. (research) theses and many M. Tech. dissertations. He has extensive publications in national and international refereed journals. Dr. Dodagoudar has been actively involved in many continuing education programmes. He is an active member of the New Delhi Standing Appellate Committee of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Dr. Dodagoudar has completed many prestigious sponsored research and consultancy projects.

Dr. K. S. Nanjunda Rao is currently the Chief Research Scientist in the Department of Civil Engineering at IISc, Bangalore. He obtained his BE (civil engineering) and M.E. from BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore and Ph.D. (structural engineering) from IISc Bangalore. His research interests include mechanics of composite plate and shell structures, finite element structural analysis, structural masonry, reinforced and prestressed concrete, earthquake-resistant design of structures and alternative building materials. Dr. Dodagoudar is actively involved in experimental facilities like shock table testing and strong floor development for structural testing. The book co-authored by him titled ‘Alternative Building Materials and Technologies’ received the ACCE – NAGADI AWARD in 2008 for Best Publication in Civil Engineering. He has supervised 10 Ph.D. and MS.c. (Engineering) theses. He has published over 60 papers in refereed journals and conferences. Dr. Dodagoudar has successfully completed several spon
