Principles and Technologies of Flotation Machines

This book highlights the principles and technologies of flotation machine mainly used in mineral processing in detail. Froth flotation is one of the most important mineral processing techniques. Over 90% of the nonferrous minerals and 50% of the ferrous minerals in the world are treated using flotation: a complicated technique including procedures from chemistry, physics and multi-scale fluid mechanics. Dr. Zhengchang Shen is Professor at Beijing General Research Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (BGRIMM), China. He has been engaged in flotation technology research for over 35 years and is a respected academic leader in this area in China. Prof. Shen helped to establish and develop upscaling design principles for flotation machines and has made substantial contributions to fundamental research, flotation equipment innovations and the expansion of their applications. He has won four Chinese patent excellence awards, three national invention awards and two national science and technology progress awards. Further, Prof. Shen has published more than 100 papers and holds 34 patents.
