Note Editore

Neurointervention is a rapidly expanding medical specialty, propelled by the transformative success of mechanical thrombectomy in acute ischaemic stroke and embolisation techniques in the management of cerebral aneurysms. The handbook provides a modern, accessible, and comprehensive guide to the full breadth of neurointerventional practice. Beginning with essential foundational topics, including ethics and consent, neurovascular anatomy, pharmacology, and equipment, Neurointervention builds toward more advanced content, initially covering vascular access, and diagnostic angiography, progressing to a detailed account of all neurovascular disorders and their pathophysiology. It particularly focusses on practical and useful aspects of endovascular management and strategy. It is an invaluable text for those embarking upon a career in neurointervention. As part of the Oxford Specialist Handbooks series, each section is designed for concise, topic-focused reference, making it an ideal resource for use in clinical settings. By integrating current clinical guidelines, anatomical principles, and technical expertise, groundbreaking Neurointervention supports clinicians in delivering safe, effective care across both routine and complex neurointerventional cases. Contributions from leading experts in the field ensure that each chapter provides evidence-based knowledge, making this an indispensable guide for those embarking on this stimulating, rewarding career.
