This book is part of the growing field of practical approaches to philosophical questions relating to identity, agency and ethics, working across continental and analytical traditions. Kim Atkins is Senior Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Wollongong in Australia. She has a special interest in the work of Paul Ricoeur and Maurice Merleau-Ponty, concerning issues of embodiment, selfhood and ethics. She is the editor of Self and Subjectivity. A Reader with Commentary (Blackwell) and co-editor, with Catriona Mackenzie, of Practical Identity and Narrative Agency (Routledge).
