Continuing a series on trade protection in major countries (including the United States, Japan, and China) by the Institute for International Economics, this study is the first attempt to measure the impact of all types of protection in the European Union, including antidumping measures, nontariff barriers, and subsidies as well as tariffs, and provides a valuable agenda of "demolition objectives" for the upcoming Millennium Round of WTO negotiations.
