Trama

This book is mainly about the research on human-motion-based teleoperation and intelligent human-robot interaction technologies. With the development of motion capture and human-robot interaction technologies, human-motion-based teleoperation systems have become a research hotspot in the field. This book conducts research in four aspects: single-arm motion mapping, dual-arm motion mapping, whole-body motion mapping, and reliable communication for teleoperation. Moreover, two application cases are introduced to validate the usability of the human motion mapping strategies from the perspective of remote homecare and remote medical assistance in Healthcare 4.0. Practitioners in fields such as robotics, human-robot interaction, and remote operations can all draw inspiration from this book.

Autore

Honghao Lyu received the B.Eng. degree in mechanical engineering from China University of Mining and Technology, Xuzhou, China, in 2018, and the Ph.D. degree in mechatronic engineering from the School of Mechanical Engineering, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, in 2023. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher on intelligent human-robot interaction for healthcare at Zhejiang University, leading research projects on healthcare robots, wireless-controlled robotics, human-robot intelligent interface, safe human-robot interaction, and teleoperation solutions for healthcare applications. He studied as a joint Ph.D. student at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, Sweden, from 2021 to 2022. He worked on multi-robot coordination, network hardware-in-the-loop simulation, and latency-aware cloud fog automation with ABB Corporate Research Sweden as a guest researcher. He developed various dual-arm robotic teleoperation systems based on motion capture techniques.

Geng Yang received the B.Eng. and M.Sc. degrees in instrument science and engineering from the College of Biomedical Engineering and Instrument Science, Zhejiang University (ZJU), Hangzhou, China, in 2003 and 2006, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electronic and computer systems from the Department of Electronic and Computer Systems, the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, Sweden, in 2013. From 2013 to 2015, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the iPack VINN Excellence Center, the School of Information and Communication Technology, KTH. He is currently a professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering, ZJU. His research interests include bio-inspired flexible and stretchable sensors for robot sensing and human-robot interaction, focusing on key enabling technologies for Human-Cyber-Physical-System and Healthcare 4.0. He is the associate editor of IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics, IEEE Review in Biomedical Engineering, and Bio-Design and Manufacturing.

Huayong Yang is the academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He received the B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Wuhan, China, in 1982, and the Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Bath, Bath, UK, in 1988. Since 1989, he has been with Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, where he is currently the director of the Engineering Department of Zhejiang University, the director with the State Key Laboratory of Fluid Power and Mechatronic Systems, and the chairman with the International Coalition of Intelligent Manufacturing. His research interests include motion control and energy saving of mechatronic systems, fluid power components, and system development. Dr. Yang received the First Prize of State Scientific and Technological Progress Award, three Ministerial or Provincial Scientific and Technological Progress Awards, and the Ho Leung Ho Lee Scientific and Technological Progress Award.
