The HIV and AIDS epidemic continues to grow globally and an overwhelming majority of all infections in the twenty-first century have occurred in sub-Saharan Africa. Encouragingly, however, new infections are decreasing in this region. This important volume provides an overview of the evidence around HIV prevention interventions in sub-Saharan Africa. Exploring contemporary biomedical, behavioural, structural and combination interventions, the book looks at the barriers to implementation as well as the successes, as well as how to monitor and evaluate practice.
