Everyone Leads is about seeking leadership in uncommon places and how to inspire and cultivate the leadership of those focused on social change including those working for nonprofits and in communities around the country, especially those of younger generations who will be taking up the mantle with the huge demographic turnover taking place over this decade. It is about taking responsibility to work with developing leaders to make a difference. And it is about the practice of values that make a leader someone others will listen to and follow. Public Allies believes that those values help leaders connect across cultures, facilitate collaborative action, recognize and mobilize all of a community's assets, continuously learn, and be accountable to those they work with and those they serve. Everyone Leads will share this model and approach to leadership, offering theory, case studies, vignettes on leaders, and exercises for reflection and discussion. The book will both seek to inspire people to believe in their capacity for leadership and focus on five key leadership values: Being Asset-Based Leadership, Collaboration, Diversity and Inclusion, Continuous Learning, and Integrity. These values will be approached individually and also as an integrated set of practices or a framework.
