Note Libraio

For the sixth time Lürzer's Archive publishes the 200 Best Ad photographers worldwide. The Images drawing on sporting themes or landscape scenes, photos of animals and vehicles, portraits and still lifes: "200 Best Ad Photographers worldwide" features no fewer than 516 inspiring motives that appeared in advertisements and/or on posters. For what is now the sixth time, Lürzer's Archive is thus offering the world's 200 best advertising photographers an excellent platform on which to present their quite remarkable images. The work was produced by photographers from 31 countries. In terms of country rankings, this puts Germany into second place behind the USA (55 photographers), followed by the UK (25) and Australia (13). The 516 motives once again testify to the enormous abilities and achievements of the advertising photography profession. For creative directors and art buyers, this volume is both a source of inspiration and the ultimate reference work for advertising photographers worldwide," says Michael Weinzettl, editor-in-chief of Lürzer's Archive. Following preselection from a total of 8,629 submissions, the 516 best works were selected by a jury consisting of editor-in-chief Michael Weinzettl, Suzee Barrabee (art buyer with Goodby Silverstein & Partners), Damon Collins (founding member of Joint London), Rafael Gil (art director at Africa in São Paulo), Christophe Gilbert (photographer), Shintaro Shiratori (president of the Japan Advertising Photographers' Association - APA), and Anne Telford (Communication Arts). "The 793 photographers who submitted work did not make it easy for the jury to pick the best from what was an outstanding collection of motives," says Michael Weinzettl. "Furthermore, the large number of submissions received also shows that photographic work continues to be a key element for advertising agencies and companies seeking to create exceptional advertising campaigns."
