This is an introduction to the data mining technologies with emphasis on soft computing. Most data mining techniques so far have concentrated on flat-file applications. It starts with existing data mining methods, discusses different soft computing tools such as fuzzy sets, artificial neural networks, genetic algorithms, rough sets, and their hybridizations, and moves on to classification, clustering, and rule generation.
