The 4th edition of Visualizing Human Biology includes many new features and additions. In this issue, more visuals are used to teach and explain, not just illustrate, and varied learning styles are used through blogs, podcasts, animations and videos. Furthermore, box features highlight engaging stories that help engage interested in the science behind the stories and connect what's relevant today with how human biology works. A new Visualizing Human Biology Lab Manual is fully compatible with the text, brining the Visualizing approach into the laboratory setting. New features include a "Hot Topics" section from reviews into the text and "I Wonder" boxes where appropriate; Five "Big Concepts" of Biology made more explicit in the text; one figure per chapter offers a Critical Thinking Question paired with it that calls back to one of the 5 Big Concepts; evolution Critical Thinking Questions are paired with a key figure (one per chapter); and Scientific Method Critical Thinking Questions are paired with a key figure where appropriate, to name a few.
