This book reviews contaminants of emerging nature affecting the agroecosystem and includes important information regarding the their sources, types, transportation, environmental threats and strategies to decontaminate the affected agroecosystems. The contents of this volume will help the policy makers and environmental engineers in combating the continuously rising threats to cultivated ecosystems.

Chapter 01 Sources and impacts of emerging contaminants in agro-ecosystems.- Chapter 02 Sewage wastewater and sludge as source of traditional and emerging contaminants in agro-ecosystems.- Chapter 03 Dew as source of emerging contaminants in agricultural system.- Chapter 04 Particulate matter pollution and global agricultural productivity.- Chapter 05 Dyes from textile industry wastewater as emerging contaminants in agricultural fields.- Chapter 06 Pharmaceuticals as emerging contaminant in agriculture: Source, transport, ecological risks and removal strategies.- Chapter 07 Antibiotics and antibiotic resistance genes in agro-ecosystem s as emerging contaminants.- Chapter 08 Soil Contamination by Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in the Agro-ecosystems.- Chapter 09 Emerging nano-agrochemicals for sustainable agriculture: Benefits, challenges and risk mitigation.- Chapter 10 Transport of emerging contaminants from agricultural soil to groundwater.- Chapter 11 Fate and Transport of Engineered Nanoparticles as an Emerging Agricultural Contaminant.- Chapter 12 Threats of Nano-Material Contamination in Agro-ecosystem.- Chapter 13 Mechanism of toxicity of engineered nanomaterials and defense by the crop plants.- Chapter 14 Non-Judicious use of pesticides indicating potential threat to sustainable agriculture.- Chapter 15 Indigenous agricultural knowledge towards achieving sustainable agriculture.

Dr. Vipin Kumar Singh is a research associate at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. His current interest includes environmental contaminants and mitigation using biological approaches. So far he has published more than 50 research papers in the journal of national and international repute. He is the life time fellow of Indian Association of Hydrologists and Association of Microbiologists of India.

Dr. Rishikesh Singh is an environmental researcher at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. His current interest includes environmental contaminants, and management of agroecosystem using living materials derived products like biochar.
