Superconducting technology is potentially important as one of the future smart grid technologies. The book briefly introduces the application of superconductor in electrical power technology (Chapter 1); Chapter 2 describes the general basic superconductivity, and introduce the experimental measurements of the parameters such as critical current, critical temperature, critical magnetic field;  Mechanical and anisotropy of practical superconducting material, such as strain, stress, Irreversibility fields and stability of superconductor are introduce in Chapter 3 and 4; Chapter 5 describes the AC losses, geometrical structure including slab, concentric cylinder, superconductor with elliptical cross section , the ac losses including hysteresis loss, eddy loss and coupling loss;  Chapter 6 gives introduction on fabricating technologies of practical superconducting materials; In chapter 7, the author first introduce the principles and methods for contact-free measurements of HTS critical current and n values in order to describe the practical long HTS wires;  and in Chapter 8, the author systematically introduces cryogenic insulating materials and performances, including cryogenic gas, cryogenic liquid, organic and inorganic insulation materials, structure materials, the performances focus on breakdown strength, lighting strength, partial discharge, dielectric loss angle tg d, etc;   Refrigeration and Cryostats are introduced in Chapter 9, including the design method of cryostat , principles of refrigeration and cooling technologies; Chapter 10 covers Power supplying technology in superconducting electric apparatus, mainly introduce several types of current leads with low thermal leak, principle and applications of superconducting switch (SC) and flux pumps; Chapter 11 presents the structure of superconducting equipments and Chapter 12 introduces applications and case studies of superconductivity in power system.
