Trama

This book provides a comprehensive and contemporary overview of advances in energy and energy storage technologies. Although the coverage is varied and diverse, the book also addresses unifying patterns and trends in order to enrich readers’ understanding of energy and energy storage systems, particularly hydrogen energy storage, including e.g. their morphology, porosity and material structure. Readers will also gain insights into the hydrogen storage performance landscape, based on data released by the US Department of Energy (DOE), providing a basis for understanding real-world applications. The book also discusses the superior hydrogen storage performance of solid-state materials and explores the physical and chemical properties that can potentially affect their performance.

Autore

Mardiana Idayu Ahmad completed her PhD in Engineering Science (Sustainable Energy Technologies) at the Department of Architecture and Built Environment, Faculty of Engineering, University of Nottingham, UK, in 2011. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Environmental Technology Division, School of Industrial Technology, Universiti Sains Malaysia. Her research chiefly focuses on sustainable energy technologies, environmental management, and bridging these two fields.

Ali Salehabadi received his PhD in Polymer Chemistry from the School of Chemical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2014, and is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Environmental Technology Division, School of Industrial Technology, Universiti Sains Malaysia. He is a chemist with a background in polymer chemistry and solid-state energy materials (nanomaterials, MOFs, polymers), and his research mainly focuses on their application in energy storage systems.

Norli Ismail is currently a Professor and Head of the Department at the School of Industrial Technology, Universiti Sains Malaysia. Holding a PhD in Environmental Technology from the same university, her research interests include biogas production, water, wastewater, and solid waste treatment technologies and management.

Norhashimah Morad completed her Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering at the University of Missouri - Columbia, USA, in 1985. She joined the School of Industrial Technology at the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Malaysia, as a tutor in 1988 and pursued her PhD in Control Engineering at the University of Sheffield, UK, under a Commonwealth Scholarship. She is currently a Professor in the Environmental Technology Division, USM, Malaysia. Her research interests include life cycle assessment (LCA), intelligent systems in manufacturing, optimization using genetic algorithms, phytoremediation, and new methods and materials in biological and chemical wastewater treatment.

Morteza Enhessari received his PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from Islamic Azad University, Tehran, Iran, in 2008. He is currently an Associate Professor of Chemistry at the Naragh Branch of Islamic Azad University. His main research interests are in the synthesis and characterization of Perovskite nanopowders.
