Durability of Sustainable Construction Materials.- Effect of Carbon Nanotubes treated Aggregates of compressive strength of concrete.- Enhancing Mechanical Properties of Rubberised Concrete with Non-Thermal Plasma Treatment.- Fresh and Hardened Properties of Innovative Foamed-Rubberized Concrete.- Influence of Silica Fume on Material Properties of Magnesium Oxychloride Cement.- Structural Properties of Lightweight Rubberized Concrete.- Studies on Recycled Waste Glass Powder as Binder in Concrete.

This book presents articles from The Australasian Conference on the Mechanics of Structures and Materials (ACMSM25 held in Brisbane, December 2018), celebrating the 50th anniversary of the conference. First held in Sydney in 1967, it is one of the longest running conferences of its kind, taking place every 2–3 years in Australia or New Zealand. Bringing together international experts and leaders to disseminate recent research findings in the fields of structural mechanics, civil engineering and materials, it offers a forum for participants from around the world to review, discuss and present the latest developments in the broad discipline of mechanics and materials in civil engineering.

Professor CM Wang is the TMR Chair Professor in Structural Engineering, The University of Queensland. He is a Chartered Structural Engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Singapore, a Fellow of Academy of Engineering Singapore, a Fellow of the Institution of Structural Engineers and a Fellow of the Society of Floating Solutions (Singapore). His research interests are in the areas of structural stability, vibration, optimization, plated structures and Mega-Floats. He has published over 420 journal papers and coauthored 9 books such as Very Large Floating Structures, Structural Vibration, Shear Deformable Beams and Plates: Relationships with Classical Solutions and Exact Solutions for Buckling of Structural Members. He is an Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Structural Stability and Dynamics and an Editorial Board Member in several journals including of Engineering Structures, International Journal of Applied Mechanics, and Ocean Systems Engineering. He has won many awards that include the IStructE Singapore Structural Awards 2016, Keith Eaton Award, Lewis Kent Award, IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award, and the Grand Prize of the Next Generation Container Port Challenge.

Dr JCM Ho is the Senior Lecturer of The University of Queensland in the School of Civil Engineering.  His research interests are on concrete-filled-steel-tube columns and rheology of concrete, mortar and cement paste.

Professor S Kitipornchai is from the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Queensland, Australia.  He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE) and a Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts (EASA).  He has been Honorary Professors at Tongji University and at Beijing Jiatong University.  He is the Regional Editor of Engineering Structures journal since 1993.  His research interests are in the areas of structural stability, steel structures, transmission towers, computational mechanics, advanced composite and smart materials.   He has published over 345 journal papers, and 8 books, with a web of science h-index of 55 and over 10,000 citations.

He has been with the University of Queensland since 1976.  From 2001 to 2012, he worked at the City University of Hong Kong and was Head of Department for 6 years, during which time he established the discipline of Civil Engineering and the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering for City University of Hong Kong.  He has won many awards that include the Munro  Prize, the University of Queensland Teaching Excellence Award, and the Monash Civil Engineering Alumnus of the Year Award.  Recently he was awarded the Nishino Medal from the EASEC Conference.
