C'è nell'architettura un tratto di strada, non eludibile, tra ciò che è esistito, ciò che esiste e ciò che deve essere. Solo percorrendo ogni volta questa distanza il progetto trova significato. È questa, per me, la ragione del disegno: in tal senso non si tratta del disegno di una forma ma, prima, di una sostanza, che si traspone dalla materialità alla coscienza, per tornare depurata al mondo visibile. | Why do I draw – There is an inescapable path to tread in architecture; it runs between what was, what is and what will be. A drawing will be meaningful only if we take this path each time we draw. This is the reason why I draw.
